Blueblood turns on the style

A rich and deep pedigree was to the fore at Goulburn where our filly Rambova opened her account.

The John O’Shea and Tom Charlton-trained chestnut won with authority over 1200 metres and the style of her victory suggested she can make her mark in much stronger company.

She showed good gate speed from the outside barrier to sit near the pace under rider Keagan Latham and the daughter of Street Boss coasted clear in the run to the post.

We went to A$460,000 to secure the Merricks Station-bred Rambova out of Emirates Park’s draft at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

She is a half-sister to the G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile with their dam the dual Listed winner Calaverite.

The Lonhro mare is a half-sister to G2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes winner Gold Rocks, whose daughter La Dorada claimed top honours in last season’s G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The G1 Australian Derby winner Major Beel is also a member of this family, which further boasts Group success stories Gold Rush and Gold Bullion.
