Hello Youmzain strikes again

Speedy youngster Enchantment credited our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain with another black type success following her dominant display to land the Listed Welcome Stakes at Riccarton.

It was also a richly deserved victory for the Te Akau juvenile, who had placed at her previous three starts for trainers Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson.

She has joined Platinum Diamond, Hello Hayley and our own Lucy In The Sky as stakes winners sired by Hello Youmzain, last season’s champion freshman stallion.

Enchantment was quickly into stride to make the play in front and was a willing partner for jockey Michael McNab to score with authority.

“It was a good, positive ride by Michael and he summed it all up very well,” Sam Bergerson said.

“She’s a sharp filly, really tough and gave a good kick.”

Enchantment may now chase a black type double with the Listed Champagne Stakes a possible target.

Bred by Emblem, the two-year-old is out of the dual Group 3-winning per Incanto mare Belle Fascino and was purchased for $60,000 by Victorian agent Sheamus Mills from Haunui Farm’s draft at Karaka.
