Homebred rocks at Cranbourne

The Chris Waller-trained Rock Them Jools hasn’t wasted any time adding to his record this time around.

Following a break, the lightly raced four-year-old was fourth when resuming at Sandown last month and showed the benefit of that outing when successful over 1400 metres at Cranbourne.

We bred and sold Rock Them Jools who has now won two of his nine starts for Albert Bosma’s Go Racing syndication company who have enjoyed a long and successful association with the Waller stable.

Damian Lane gave the son of Fastnet Rock a sweet run and he rallied strongly in the run home under his 59.5kg to account for his rivals.

“I knew we would want the speed on, and it worked out well for us,” he said.

“I was confident getting into the straight that we’d get over the top of them.”

Rock The Jools was purchased out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $325,000 and is a half-brother to recent winning stablemate Prince Charge, a son of Hello Youmzain who was a A$160,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale graduate.

They are out of the More Than Ready mare More Jools, a sister to G2 Villiers Stakes winner Ninth Legion and half-sister to G2 Queensland Guineas winner Tsarita.

We sold More Jools’ daughter of Sword Of State for A$160,000 on the Gold Coast in 2025 to Noble Racing and Robert and Luke Price Racing and a Hello Youmzain filly to Peter Chow and Alex Olivera at Karaka last month for $70,000.

The dam also has a daughter of Hello Youmzain at foot and is back in foal to our shuttle stallion.
