Well-related homebred filly Hello Veneta has opened her winning account in style.

The daughter of Hello Youmzain followed up two minor placings to strike over 1300 metres at Mt Barker in her fifth appearance for trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce.

Rider Tash Faithfull took the three-year-old straight to the front and, after surging clear at the top of the straight, cruised away to score by a length and a-half.

We offered Hello Veneta at Karaka in 2024 where she was secured by the Western Australian trainers with agent John Chalmers for $40,000.

She boasts a strong international pedigree as the second winner for the Lawman mare Via Veneto, who was successful over 2300 metres in France and secured by us with John Foote’s assistance for 210,000gns at a Tattersalls Mares’ Sale.

Via Veneto is a half-sister to the G1 Epsom Handicap winner He’s Your Man and the G3 Prix Penelope winner Perfect Hedge, whose son Called To The Bar was a multiple Group winner in France and runner-up in the G1 Prix Royal Oak and G1 Belmont Derby.
