Hello Jo is the latest black type success story for our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain following the colt’s victory at Chantilly.
Prepared by Mario Baratti, the three-year-old produced a commanding performance in the hands of Cristian Demuro to land major honours in the Listed Prix Maurice Caillaut over 1800 metres.
The Pegase Bloodstock-raced Hello Jo bridged the gap to stakes company with aplomb after winning his previous start in a 1900 metre event at Deauville.
He was consigned by Haras d’Etreham to the Arqana August Yearling Sale and changed hands for 70,000 euros ($137,250).
He is the first foal of the winning Kingman mare La Jonction, a half-sister to the dam of G2 Prix d’Harcourt winner and G1 Royal Ascot Prince Of Wales’s Stakes runner-up Zarakem.
Hello Jo is the ninth individual stakes winner for Hello Youmzain, who is the leading second crop sire in New Zealand this season by winners (17) and has also sired 14 winners in Australia this term.
