Overdue reward for Entitlement

Shooting To Win mare Entitlement has knocked on the door a number of times and she pushed it wide open at Kembla Grange.

In typical Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott style, she headed straight to the front and was out on her own at the end of 2000 metres.

Entitlement was clear at the top of the straight and held a strong gallop in the run home under rider Regan Bayliss to score by four lengths after placing in three of her previous four starts for the Randwick trainers.

“On that she’s done, she was a more than worthy winner and she’s a beautiful mare,” long-time stable employee Dave Meijer said.

We bred Entitlement who was sold at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling Sale for $8000.

She began her career at Matamata with Maxim and Samantha Van Lierde and collected three placings before relocating to Waterhouse and Bott.

Entitlement is the first foal of the Commands mare Patient, whose half-brother Whiskey Neat won the G3 Eclipse Stakes and the family of the Australian Group 2 winners Renaissance and Sessions.

Patient has produced a daughter and son of Embellish in the last two seasons.
