Promising mare House Of Lords is bred to star over ground, and she ran true to her pedigree at Moe.
The daughter of Almanzor stepped up to a middle distance for the first time and ran the 2050 metre trip out strongly under rider Craig Newitt to score with authority.
“She’s done a great job and she’s well bred, there’s plenty of upside,” trainer Peter Gelagotis said.
“She’s definitely a stayer and we’ve been looking to get her out over a bit of ground, she’s such a big-striding girl.”
House Of Lords coasted along in fourth spot before improving around runners 600 metres from home and the five-year-old rounded off strongly for her third win from seven starts.
“She’s done a really good job since she came over from New Zealand. She’s a beautiful mare and it was a well-executed ride,” Gelagotis said.
Bred by Peter Gillespie and Bill Gleeson, House Of Lords was a trial winner for Awapuni trainer Peter Didham before she joined the Pakenham operation of Gelagotis.
She is a half-sister to Group winners and top-flight placegetters Sinarahma and House Of Cartier with their dam the four-time top-flight winner Shez Sinsational.
