Well-performed mare Kind Words did her younger half-sister proud when she capped off a consistent run of form last time out with a dominant victory at Rosehill.
Prepared at Newcastle by Kris Lees, our homebred daughter of Written Tycoon had placed at her previous four appearances before taking the thick end of the stake over 2000 metres.
She sat close to the pace under rider Tim Clark before asserting her superiority in the run home to score by a comfortable margin.
Her victory provided a timely pedigree update as we will offer her half-sister by Spirit Of Boom as Lot 461 at Karaka next month.
Kind Words has now won on three occasions, which doesn’t accurately reflect her quality as has a runner-up finish to her credit in the G3 Spring Stakes.
She has also run third at Listed level in the Tatt’s Gown Crown and Gold Coast Bracelet and was fourth in the G1 Queensland Oaks.
We offered Kind Words at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale where she was knocked down for A$280,000 to bloodstock agent Bruce Perry on behalf of prominent owner Lib Petagna.
She is a daughter of Gracious Grey, whose three foals to race have all been successful.
The daughter of Redoute’s Choice is a half-sister to the G2 Emancipation Stakes and G3 Nivison Stakes winner Positive Peace with their mother Warpath also a stakes winner.
Gracious Grey’s daughter of Almanzor, named Greyzor, was purchased by Lees and Perry for $100,000 at Karaka last year and the dam has a Chaldean colt at foot.
