Well-related three-year-old Azarax continued the perfect start to his career with another dominant display at Wyong.
The gifted son of Hello Youmzain had been a debut winner on the track six weeks ago and returned to double his tally for trainers John O’Shea and Tom Charlton with victory over 1350 metres.
Azarax was giving away age and experience to his rivals, but he took it all in his ample stride.
He broke well under rider Dylan Gibbons to sit in third spot off the rail and he provided superior in the run home to score with authority.
Azarax was bred by the late Sir Patrick Hogan and wife Lady Justine and sold for $190,000 to O’Shea, Laurel Oak Bloodstock and James Bester Bloodstock at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale where he was offered by Curraghmore.
He is a son of the Tavistock mare Sunny Rose and a sister to the G1 Australian Derby winner Tavago with their dam a sibling to La Sizeranne, successful in the G2 Tatt’s Winter Stakes and twice placed at the elite level.
