Noted frontrunning rider Craig Newitt maintained his unbeaten record on So You Will with an impressive all-the-way victory over 1400 metres on the Lakeside track at Sandown.

He had firstly combined with the Shane Nichols-trained representative to win a maiden event at Werribee last month and they had no trouble making it two on the bounce.

Our home-bred and raced three-year-old was first into stride to make the running and Newitt increased the tempo before the turn.

“When we found the front, he was able to relax and I got them chasing around the corner and he was too strong,” he said.

Newitt is confident So You Will can continue to improve and will relish a step up in distance.

“I think he’s got a fair bit of upside this bloke and will get further, no doubt,” he said.

We bred So You Will and remained in the ownership group after he was knocked down to Nichols for $275,000 out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

He is the second foal of the Listed Inglewood Stakes winner Respin, whose first is Almanzor’s son Balance Of Power, the stakes placed winner of four races.

His brother sold to Ryan and Alexiou Racing and Andrew Williams Bloodstock for $260,000 at Karaka last year and Respin has a yearling daughter of Almanzor named Manarola.

She produced a filly by Satono Aladdin last season and is in foal to Frankel’s multiple Group 1-winning son Chaldean.
