Here To Shock will take aim at another major prize following his return to top form in the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes at Caulfield.
The Ben, Will and JD Hayes-trained son of Shocking gave weight and a beating to his rivals in the 1400 metre event, which brought the curtain down on the Melbourne spring carnival.
Rider Mark Zahra took any bad luck out of the equation aboard the G1 BCD Group Sprint winner and the Cambridge Stud graduate bowled along at a good clip in front.
Here To Shock made light of his 60kg to kick clear at the top of the straight and had enough in reserve for the 14th victory of his career.
“It was a great ride by Mark and the horse relaxed beautifully, he’s been fantastic for the ownership group,” Ben Hayes said.
“We’re looking at the million-dollar Supernova, he’s definitely put his hand up for that.”
Bred by The Sunlight Trust, Here To Shock was purchased out of our 2019 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale by Rob Slade for $70,000 and his earnings are now closing in on A$3 million.
A half-brother to Listed winner Turn The Ace, he is a son of the Lonhro mare Frescoes and the family of the three-time Group 1 winner Freemason.
