Success on Sha Tin stage

Wukong Jewellery has doubled his winning tally with his breakthrough victory at Sha Tin.

Our homebred son of Too Darn Hot scored with authority over 1400 metres for the champion pairing of trainer John Size and rider Hugh Bowman.

The four-year-old began his career from Ciaron Maher’s stable as Saint Aubins and following a debut third at Sandown he won his maiden at Sale and then relocated to Hong Kong.

Wukong Jewellery was given four trials before embarking on his current preparation and finished sixth when resuming before overcoming a wide barrier for a comfortable success in Class 4 company.

He was purchased out of our 2023 draft at New Zealand Bloodstocks National Yearling Sale by Maher for $130,000 and is a son of the Fastnet Rock mare Orphea, whose brother Rock Classic won the G1 Australian Guineas.

Orphea’s first foal is Outovstock, successful in the G3 Manawatu Classic, and earlier this year we sold her son of Savabeel to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott for A$250,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

She has a yearling son of Dundeel and visited Castelvecchio in the spring.
