Sword Of State's first crop were the talk of the sales ground at the major yearling sales this year. His first crop of youngsters averaged $172,000 with a top price of $540,000. He was the third leading first season sire by average across Magic Millions, Inglis and NZB Book 1 behind Home Affairs ($100,000 stud fee) and Stay Inside ($70,000 stud fee).

His progeny were bought by many of the best trainers and bloodstock agents in Australasia including:
