Pedigree update for Karaka-bound filly

Queen’s Evidence returned to top form at Wanganui to provide a family member with a timely pedigree boost.

Our homebred daughter of King’s Legacy is out of the High Chaparral mare Enjay, whose first foal was our four-time winner and Group placegetter Familia and we will offer her son of Hello Youmzain as Lot 416 at Karaka later this month.

Trained by Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson, Queen’s Evidence was quickly into stride in her River City assignment to travel on the frontrunner’s quarters in the hands of Wiremu Pinn.

The three-year-old strode to the front early in the run home and stayed on strongly at the end of 1200 metres to down a handy field of age group performers.

“I had mapped her to lead or sit outside the leader, and I take my hat off to her to win on this kind of (hard) track, which she doesn’t really appreciate,” Pinn said.

Queen’s Evidence has now won two of eight starts and has showed her quality with placings in the G3 Gold Trail Stakes and Listed Welcome Stakes.

She was purchased out of our New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft by Te Akau’s David Ellis for $220,000 with her dam Enjay, who produced a daughter of Hello Youmzain last season, a half-sister to multiple Group winner Rolling Pin.
