Champion jockey in waiting Warren Kennedy has predicted a rosy future for Lux Libertas. He guided the three-year-old daughter of our shuttle stallion Almanzor to a decisive victory over 1200 metres at Te Rapa in the filly’s first appearance for eight months.“She won going away, it was a good effort and I think she’s stakes material,” Kennedy said.Lux Libertas kept the leaders within her sights and overcame trouble in the running to finish powerfully and score at her third start.“Another horse came off the rail and forced me on to heels, but she balanced up again quickly and came with a good, swooping run,” Kennedy said.Lux Libertas was bred by Graham and Helen-Gaye Bax, whose daughter Kylie manages the interest of part-owner Goldeye Trust, with Lib Petagna and is prepared by Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott. “That won’t be her last win and we’ll keep her going, she’s a big girl who has taken time to mature,” Scott said.Lux Libertas is a daughter of the late stakes-performed Makfi mare Miss Fi, who was a half-sister to the dual Listed winner Peaceful.
