Almanzor 3YO turns on the style

Hollywoodboulevard produced a towering performance at Mildura to add winning momentum to his fledgling career.

The Patrick and Michelle Payne-trained three-year-old son of Almanzor had been unplaced on debut last month and showed sharp improvement to come from well off the piece to open his account over 1100 metres.

Hollywoodboulevard drifted a mile back under rider Neil Farley and was still among the tailenders near the turn.

However, once hooked wide he cut loose to mow his rivals down with an effort that strongly suggested he can progress through the grades.

Bred by Marie Leicester, he is a son of the unraced Starcraft mare Star Walk who is a half-sister to the G1 Railway Handicap winner Coogee Walk.

The G1 Levin Classic winner Distill, G3 Good Coast Guineas winner and G1 Stradbroke Handicap runner-up and the well-performer stayer Mr Tipsy also appear on the pedigree page.
