Almanzor 5YO goes the distance

A step up in trip has brought out the best in Settat from his new quarters.

The son of Almanzor was a two-time winner in Victoria for Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young before relocating to Stuart Kendrick’s Sunshine Coast stable at the beginning of the season.

Following two sprint outings, our homebred tackled 1800 metes on his home track and romped to victory in the hands of Jake Bayliss.

We originally sold Settat at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Weanling Sale for $42,000 to Taranaki identity John Corcoran.

His son Mark subsequently offered him through Grangewiliam Stud’s draft as a yearling and was knocked to Busuttin and Andrew Campbelll Bloodstock for $220,000.

Settat made his last move to Queensland when secured for A$30,000 via an Inglis Digital Sale.

His dam is the Fastnet Rock mare Sure Enough who is out of a sister to the G1 Belmont Futurity Stakes winner and sire Whywhywhy.
