Change agrees with Super Unicorn

Savabeel’s son Super Unicorn is loving life from his new quarters in Hong Kong.

Our homebred broke his maiden from Frankie Lor’s stable before his form tapered off and relocated to Mark Newnham’s stable.

The expatriate Australian trainer has turned the fortunes of the six-year-old around with consecutive 1650 metre victories in the hands of Italian rider Andreas Atzeni.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased Super Unicorn for $720,000 out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sal and subsequently topped $4 million at the International Sale.

He is a son of the late O’Reilly mare Lovetessa, twice successful and placed in the G3 Eulogy Stakes, and a brother to our mare Love Symbol, a winner this preparation for Lance Noble.

A member of the famed Eight Carat family, Lovetessa is a half-sister to the multiple Group winner and joint NZB Filly of the Year winner Queen Of Diamonds.

Their dam Love Diamonds is a sister to the G1 Spring Champion Stakes winner Viking Ruler, whose brother Kempinsky won the G2 AAMI Vase and finished runner-up in the G1 VRC Derby.
