A lucrative three-year-old season beckons Happy Youmzain following a dominant performance to defeat his older opposition on the all-weather track at Cambridge.

Trained by Tony Pike, he was untroubled to post a first-up victory over 1300 metres in the hands of Opie Bosson.

The son of our reigning champion freshman sire Hello Youmzain settled back of midfield before picking up ground across the top and was in a league of his own in the straight

Happy Youmzain has been patiently handled and was put aside for a break following his debut fourth as a two-year-old at Ellerslie and returned for two trials to fit him for a triumphant return.

He was purchased by Hong Kong Bloodstock out of breeder Westbury Stud’s draft for $100,000 at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

Happy Youmzain is a son of the More Than Ready mare Waterfalls whose half-brother Centre Pivot was successful at stakes level and the family of the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner and sire Catbird.
