Durova completes stylish hat-trick

Speedy mare Durova has found her happy place at Cameron Crockett’s Scone stable.

We bred the daughter of Russian Revolution who was a maiden winner for Ciaron Maher and also spent time with Bjorn Baker before a change of environment and a subsequent hot run of form.

Secured by Crockett for A$13,000 at an Inglis Digital Sale, Durova was a dashing first-up winner for him at Dubbo and repeated the dose at Tamworth during a perfect winter preparation.

The four-year-old then handled a significant rise in class at her most recent appearance at Newcastle to complete her hat-trick.

She jumped well from a wide barrier to keep the leaders within sight and rounded off strongly in the run home in the hands of Jason Collett.

Durova was originally purchased out of our New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft by Maher for $250,000 and is a daughter of Aotearower.

The Shamardal mare won on four occasions, placed in the G3 Anniversary Handicap, and is out of the multiple Group winner Kaatoon.

We sold Aotearower’s filly by Spirit Of Boom to Te Akau for A$100,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and, as Titahi Bay, placed on debut for Mark Walker.

Her daughter of Farnan was knocked down at Karaka to Richard Myers for $75,000.
