Further success for Zoustar mare

Our well-related mare Silver Wedding continues to add performance to her rich pedigree.

The daughter of Zoustar remained unbeaten for trainer Ciaron Maher on her current tour of duty in Queensland with success over 1400 metres at Eagle Farm.

She had won her previous start at Doomben and the four-year-old now has three victories and a couple of placings from 10 appearances.

In her latest appearance, Silver Wedding was tardily out of the barrier to settle behind midfield and inched close across the top.

She was strung up in traffic early in the run home, but once into the clear lengthened stride strongly for rider Angela Jones to drive her to the post.

We purchased Silver Wedding from breeder Widden Stud’s draft at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for A$800,000.

She is out of the G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes winner Silver Sham, a Not A Single Doubt mare who is from the family of multiple Group 1 winners and champion sire Redoute’s Choice.

His half-brothers Platinum Scissors and Manhattan Rain were also top-flight winners while their half-sister The Broken Shore is the dam of multiple Group 1 winner Shoals.
