The Auspicious continued his hot run of form in Hong Kong with further success at Happy Valley.
The four-year-old son of Almanzor has now collected three victories and three placings from his last seven appearances.
Prepared by Me Tsui, The Auspicious has also proved himself a versatile customer, having posted his wins over 1400, 1600 and most recently 2200 metres in the hands of French jockey Maxime Guyon.
“He has a very strong finish over the last 300 metres and can do it at Sha Tin and Happy Valley. I’m very happy with him,” Tsui said.
The Auspicious was bred by Monovale Holdings and sold through the draft of Riversdale/Ashleighs Thoroughbreds to Enigma Farm for A$25,000.
He was subsequently purchased by Hong Kong interests after placing in a Tauranga trial from Ben and Ryan Foote’s Cambridge stable.
The Auspicious is a son of the Dylan Thomas mare Holly Holy, who was successful on 10 occasions, and she is out of a three-quarter sister to the G1 New Zealand Derby winner Hades.
